This workshop is given by Sofie Goethals from SOGO Keramiek in Belgium. She is a former scientist and a clay and glaze enthusiast. Sofie is a production potter and makes mainly functional ware. She has been developing her own glazes since the start of her pottery adventure and has also created a range of commercially available glazes. Sofie loves teaching about glaze chemistry and is capable of transferring knowledge to potters in an accessible way.

This is a hands-on course which will involve working both theoretically and practically. During three days, we will mix, test, fire and discuss glazes to provide a good foundation for making glazes in your own workshop.

The course covers glazes for oxidation midrange firings (cone 6-7).
